Meet the highest paid Youtube stars - 2016

As the year 2016 slowly comes to an end, Forbes has released a list of highest paid Youtube stars in 2016. Forbes looks at the top 10 channels who have earned the most money from the online streaming platform. From these 10 channels emerged 10 music stars who earned a combined revenue of $70.5 million in 2016.

10.  Rhett & Link – $5 million (tie)

With 4,260,470 Youtube subscribers, the internet comedy duo are self styled intertainers have been on Youtube since 2006.They are known for their viral videos, comedy songs and TV series. The duo also morning show tagged Good mythical morning. Theire worth Rhett  is estimated to be about $7.5 millionand the duo earned $5 million from their Youtube channel in 2016.

 

9. Colleen Ballinger  – $5 million (tie)

She’s a 30 year old comedian, actress and singer with an online personality known as Miranda Sings under whose character she carries out her online activities. She also does tours where she performs her one woman comedy shows. Her Youtube channel PsychoSoprano has over 7 million subscribers with an equally impressive 5 Million followers on Instagram.

8.  German Garmendia – $5.5 million (tie)

The 26 year old Chilean is a comedian, musician, singer and writer. His two Youtube channels HolaSoyGerman and JuegaGerman has 48 million subscribers when combined with his following on 2 other social networks.

7. Mark Fischbach (Markiplier) – $5.5 million (tie)

Mark Edward Fischbach has 15.5 million subscribers,over 6.1 billion total video views, and is the 21st most subscribed channel on YouTube. He specializes in gaming and commentary.

6.  Rosanna Pansino – $6 million (tie)

A baker and actress, she is popular for her cooking show Nerdy Nummies.  Each new episode of the show is a tutorial on how to make a nerdy-themed baked good and often features popular YouTube personalities.

5.  Tyler Oakley – $6 million

Oakley is humorist, author and activist. Much of Oakley’s activism had been dedicated to LGBT youth, LGBT rights, as well as social issues. He has over 8M Youtube subscribers as of March 16, 2016

4. Smosh – $7 million

 

Smosh is an American web-based sketch comedy duo consisting of Ian Andrew Hecox (born November 30, 1987) and Daniel Anthony Padilla commonly called Anthony, born September 16, 1987. The group has at several times become the most subscribed Youtube channel.

Others are: Lilly Singh (Superwoman) – $7.5 million Roman Atwood – $8 million.

The top spot goes to PewDiePie. The Swede (real name Felix Avrid Ulf Kjellberg) has turned silly (and often crude) snippets of himself playing videogames for his 50 million subscribers into a $15 million paycheck. This is up 20% from last year, in large part due to his YouTube Red series and his book, This Book Loves You,which sold over 112,000 copies in our scoring period, according to Nielsen BookScan.
