How George Clooney Gifted 14 of his Old Friends $1m Each & Paid all Their Taxes

One of George Clooney‘s day one friends Rande Gerberhas revealed how he gifted 14 of them a whooping $1 million each.

Rande Gerber made the revelation when he spoke to MSNBC’s Headliners.  According to him, in 2013 Clooney told him and 13 others to mark a date on their calendars. In his words;

There’s a group of guys that we call ‘The Boys.’ George had called me and The Boys and said ‘Hey, mark 27 September, 2013, on your calendar. Everyone’s going to come to my house for dinner.’

The Boys had arrived at the dinner only to find suitcases on the assigned places at the table, Gerber continued.

Clooney began by saying;

Listen, I want you guys to know how much you’ve meant to me and how much you mean to me in my life. I came to L.A., I slept on your couch. I’m so fortunate in my life to have all of you and I couldn’t be where I am today without all of you’

According to Gerber, when they opened their suitcases, they found $1 million in $20 notes. All of them. One each. Just like that. He said that Clooney wouldn’t take no for an answer, and insisted they all take the money. Besides gifting them $1 million each, he also paid their taxes for one whole year.

In his words;

He goes ‘I know we’ve all been through some hard times, some of you are still going through it. You don’t have to worry about your kids, you don’t have to worry about, you know, school, you don’t have to worry about paying your mortgage.’

One was working at a bar in Texas at the airport, trying just to support his family, rides a bicycle to work every day. I mean these are guys that took care of George and now he’s giving it all back.

Tyson Fury Cleared to Resume Boxing

Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury who tested positive to a banned steroid in February 2015,  has been cleared to continue his boxing career after accepting a backdated two-year doping ban.

Despite accepting the backdated two year ban, Tyson Fury  whose last match was a victory over Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 blamed the dope result on eating uncastrated wild boar.

The new development means that Tyson will be free to return to the ring as soon as he regains his boxing licence from the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC), whom have also accepted the outcome.

Following the decision, Fury wasted no time to call out the reigning IBF and WBA heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua, saying “where you at boy? I’m coming for you punk“.

Anthony Joshua successfully defended his world titles in October, while the other two world belts are held by American Deontay Wilder and New Zealand’s Joseph Parker.
