Tottenham 1-2 Chelsea: Marcos Alonso double downs Spurs

Tottenham’s woes at Wembley continued with a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea in their first league game at their temporary home.

After exquisitely putting the champions ahead with an first-half free-kick, Marcos Alonso snatched a dramatic win in the 88th minute with a shot Spurs captain Hugo Lloris will feel he should have saved, six minutes after Michy Batshuayi’s own goal had levelled the contest.

It means Spurs have now lost their last four games against their London rivals at Wembley, and have only tasted victory at the national stadium once since beating the Blues in the 2008 League Cup final. Chelsea, meanwhile, bounce back from their opening-day defeat by Burnley with the first win of their title defence.

A match-winning brace from the wing-back who continues to prove time and again that he knows where the goal is. His free-kick to open the scoring was sublime and he was in the right place to power home the winner, even if Lloris should have done much better with his effort.

Manchester United 1-2 Manchester City: Romelu Lukaku the Villain

Manchester City has extended their consecutive top-flight victory to 14 in dramatic 2-1 win over arch rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Goals from David Silva and Nicolas Otamendi gifted Pep Guardiola‘s men a well deserved win as they opened up an 11-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Marcus Rashford  capitalized on a defensive lapse from Otamendi and Fabian Delph in first-half stoppage-time, but United were unable to find a second as a stunning double save from Ederson denied Romelu Lukaku and Juan Mata from snatching a point.

The defeat is United’s third defeat of the season brings their 40-match unbeaten home run to an end while strengthening City’s grip on the title after just 16 matches.

Manchester United will play against Bournemouth at the Old Trafford on Wednesday while City will look to continue on their quest for a premier league title when they travel to Swansea.

Borussia Dortmund sack Peter Bosz; Names Successor

Borussia Dortmund sack Peter Bosz; Successor Appointed

German club Borussia Dortmund have announced the sacking of their head coach Peter Bosz following the team’s poor run – the latest been the 2-1 home defeat against Werder Bremen on Saturday.

Peter Bosz has been swiftly been replaced by former Cologne coach Peter Stoger who was sacked weeks ago. The club’s hierarchy confirmed that he will remain in charge until the end of the season.

The 54 year old, Bosz, lost his job after a poor run of results in all competitions. Excluding the club’s victory over a third-tier Magdeburg in a league cup match, Dortmund haven’t won a single match since Sept. 30.

Bosz replaced Thomas Tuchel before the season began, they started off well accumulating 19 points from their first seven matches only to completely collapsed and managed just three draws from their last eight Bundesliga games.

Sequel to an embarrassing 2-1 defeat to Bremen, who hasn’t won a game away from home all sean, the former Ajax boss was axed after just over five months in charge at the Westfalenstadion.

Speaking to the press, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke  said;

“Last night, we decided in a meeting with Peter Bosz that he will immediately be released. It was very emotional, but classy. And Bosz took it with class.

“I would like to thank him in the name of everyone here at the club. We still believe he is a very good coach, and an outstanding personality. The cooperation was outstanding. And we would like to thank him for that.”
