Barcelona suing Neymar for £7.8m over contract breach

Spanish football club, Barcelona has revealed it plans to sue former player Neymar for £7.8m over breach of contract in the wake of his £198m move to PSG.

The amount is believed to be the loyalty bonus Neymar received after signing a contract extension in October 2016.

“Barcelona decided to take these actions in defence of their interests, after a unilateral termination of contract urged by Neymar Jr a few months after signing the renewal until the end of the year 2021,” a statement read.

Earlier this month, Neymar joined Paris Saint-Germain, who met the €222million release clause, smashing the world transfer record in the process.

The Brazil international’s move looked set to be held up after La Liga initially refused to accept the funds for the buyout clause.

The deal finally went through and the 25-year-old scored on his league debut in the 3-0 win at Guingamp.

He also scored twice in the 6-2 victory over Toulouse that leaves PSG top of Ligue 1 on goal difference but the fallout from the transfer looks set to rumble on.

In a further twist, Neymar is also considering a formal complaint to FIFA against his former club Barcelona over an unpaid loyalty bonus, Sky sources understand.

Mohamed Salah Hopes to Score against Manchester United

Mohamed Salah would be looking forward to getting at least a goal against Manchester United when they meet this weekend.

If Salah will complete a remarkable record of scoring against all the top six sides in the English Premier League this season.

The Egyptian is the joint top scorer in the division with 24 goals, which include strikes against Manchester City, Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal, with the Red Devils the only side missing in the top-six list.

Sarah, 25, is willing to complete the haul in Saturday’s encounter at Old Trafford.

Recall that the summer signing fired blank against Jose Mourinho’s side when both sides clashed in October’s draw; a tie most remembered for David De Gea’s stunning save from a Joel Matip effort.

“I remember it [De Gea’s save]. I also missed an easy chance in that game, but he is great,” Salah told Sky Sports.
