Boko Haram terrorists on Tuesday stormed the Sassawa village, Damaturu Local Government Area of Yobe State on ficve hilux vans killing eight soldiers.

According to eye wittiness:

“The attackers took the soldiers unawares at a football pitch. One officer and seven other soldiers were killed. Some others got injured,”.

One of the soldiers killed by Boko Haram during the attack has been identified as Lieutenant Hassan Shaibu, an Igala man from from Afor gam gam in Ankpa, Kogi state.

The remains of the eight military men has been moved to Damaturu Wednesday morning.

According to our source;

“The attackers had a field day. After the attack, they forced many shops and stores open and carted food items away,”

Colonel Kayode Ogunsanya who is the spokesman of 3 Division Military Base in Damaturu confirmed the attack but could not give the level of casualty.

“There was casualty on both sides but I cannot ascertain the number. Men on ground had repelled the attack,” he said.
The Police Commissioner, Yobe State Command, Mr Abdulmaliki Sumonu.

Lieutenant Hassan Shaibu’s friend yesterday took to his Facebook account to mourn the deceased.
