Adidas unveil the Official 2018 World Cup Ball: ‘The Telstar 18’

Leading sport kit manufacturers, Adidas have unveiled the official FIFA World Cup ball to be used in Russia next year.

Adidas has christened the ball Telstar 18, — a retro-inspired design similar to the classic white-and-black Telstar balls used at the finals in 1970 and 1974.

Telstar 18 joins a wide array collection of World Cup match balls, such as the Tango, the Azteca, the Questra, the controversial unstable Jabulani used at the South Africa 2010 and of course the Brazuca used three years ago in Brazil.

Barcelona star, Lionel Messi is one of the notable players to have tested the new ball.

According to Messi,

“I was lucky enough to get to know this ball a bit earlier and I managed to have a try with it,” Messi told

“I like all of it: the new design, the colours, everything.”

Well that’s that then. If Messi likes it, nobody else stands a chance!
