With the Russia 2018 World Cup just by the corner, Nigeria is faced with a major decision to make which is; could Ifeanyi Ubah’s goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa be trusted with the task of being Super Eagle‘s No.1 man ?
Since his debut for the Super Eagles as they thrashed Cameroon 4:0 in September, Ezenwa has gone to become a regular starter for the Gernot Rohr men displacing Daniel Akpeyi in the pecking order.
Ezenwa has indeed so far shown that he’s got some confidence judging by his display against Zambia and recently Algeria, but should he be worried with the emergence of Francis Uzoho?.
Francis Odinaka Uzoho has been in fine form for Deportivo de La Coruña this season.
Ezenwa has performed poorly when it comes to crosses. His nervy performances came in contrast to one of the Eagles’ greatest stoppers, Vincent Enyeama.
Nigeria will face Argentina in a friendly match on Tuesday, and Rohr could want to use the opportunity to test the Deportivo shot stopper Uzoho who has made two appearances for Deportivo La Coruna this season and, at 18 years he looks a decent bet to represent Nigeria’s future.
What is your take; should Ezenwa be trusted to continue being our No.1?
