BREAKING: Senator Ayo Arise Kidnapped

Senator Ayo Arise whom we reported days ago was kidnapped by unknown gunmen while on his way to Abuja has regained his freedom.

As at the time of this publication, details of his release hasn’t been made public as a result who can state if if any ransom was paid.

It was speculated that the kidnappers has reduced their demand from N80 million naira to N50 million naira. However, the President of Oye Progressives Union which is the Umbrella Association of the Indigenes of Oye, Mr. Akin Omole, confirmed the release of the All Progressives Congress chieftain. in his words;

“Yes, I’ve heard from him and he told us that he has regained his freedom. We are immensely grateful to God Almighty and to everyone who acted one way or the other for his release,” he said in a telephone chat with newsmen.

Oye Ekiti is highly grateful and we are saying thank you. OPU on behalf of the Oye Ekiti community is grateful to everyone who contributed in several ways towards ensuring that our illustrious son is freed without being harmed,”.

 

Arise was kidnapped on Sunday along Okene-Abuja highway while traveling back to Abuja from his country-home in Oye-Ekiti.

Oscar Pistorius involved in prison fight; Injured

Oscar Pistorius involved in prison fight; Injured

Jailed South African athlete Oscar Pistorius was reportedly involved in a brawl in prison and has been hurt, less than two weeks after his sentence for the killing of girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp was more than doubled.

Pistorius was allegedly involved in a fight over the use of a public phone, a prison department spokesman ingabakho Nxumalo told the BBC.

The amputee who was jailed for 13 years and five months, only sustained minor bruises, No other serious injuries were reported, the spokesman said. IN his words;

“It is alleged that he was involved in an altercation with another inmate over the use of a public phone in the special care unit where both offenders are detained at Attridgeville Correctional Centre,”.

Investigation has been launched to “establish the facts and to ensure that appropriate action is taken as incidents of assaults are not allowed”, Nxumalo said.

The widely reported brawl took place on 6 December, 10 days after South African prosecutors successfully argued Pistorius’ “shockingly light” six-year sentence should be increased.

There is nothing as hectic as getting through a week day in Nigeria, (Most especially Lagos) but to continue living, one must learn to relax and unwind after each daily hassle.

1. Take a shower

The importance of a nice cold shower after a hectic day can never be over emphasised as it doesn’t only cool you off but disinfect your skin from all manner of germs and all.

2. Listen to Music

Music they say is a music to the soul. There isn’t a better way to clear your head from the sounds of the honks you’ve were subjected to while in traffic or the sound of the hyper bus conductor.

Listen to whatever type of music that calms your nerves. We’ll however recommend a low or mid tempo R’n’B, Jazz, or Blues. Whatever works for you.

3. Read a book

They say Reader are Leaders but that aside, there is nothing intriguing as hearing that little voice in your head when you read. Reading will really help you relax. Try it.

4. Watch TV

What about catching up with your favorite Tv show? or optionally try seeing that trendy movie that suites your type of genre of choice. However, you need to know when to call it a day because you don’t wanna stay up late.

5. Don’t bring work home

If you truly want to unwind, then you really have to keep the work off your home. Do not bring the carryovers with you after a day at work. The work can wait.

6. Stay off social media

Staying the social media works like magic. After a hectic weekday, you need to ignore those WhatsApp or Facebook messages, Twitter and all other social media platform aren’t exempted It is a very healthy habit to imbibe.

7. Organize your space

8. Sleep

The importance of sleep is way lengthy but to keep it short and concise, after you might have taken your shower, had your dinner and maybe watched a bit of a short Tv show, you have to sleep.
